We do not collect personal information through cookies, tracking pixels, or third-party analytics scripts.

We use the information you submit through our contact form for the following purposes:

• Responding to your enquiry — to reply to your message via email or WhatsApp
• Managing our client pipeline — to log your enquiry in our internal CRM so we can follow up appropriately
• Improving our services — to understand what services prospective clients are interested in

We will not use your information for any purpose beyond what is described here without your consent.

Lawful basis for processing

We process your personal information on the basis that it is necessary to respond to your enquiry and to take steps at your request prior to potentially entering into a services agreement (POPIA section 11(1)(b)). Where we follow up beyond your initial enquiry, we rely on our legitimate interest in conducting our business, balanced against your right to privacy (POPIA section 11(1)(f)).

How your information is processed

When you submit the contact form on our website, your information is sent to our operations platform via a secure webhook. The platform then:

1. Sends an email notification to our team so we can respond to you
2. Logs the enquiry in our internal CRM
3. May trigger an optional WhatsApp follow-up message to you

Your information is processed using infrastructure hosted by third-party service providers. We select providers that maintain appropriate security measures. Your data may be processed on servers located outside South Africa, including in the European Union and the United States. Where this occurs, we ensure that appropriate safeguards are in place.

How we protect your information

We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your personal information from loss, unauthorised access, alteration, or destruction. These measures include:

• Encrypted transmission (HTTPS/TLS) for all data submitted through our website
• Access controls limiting who within Skakel can view submitted information
• Secure hosting infrastructure with our service providers

How long we keep your information

We retain contact form submissions for as long as is necessary to respond to your enquiry and manage any resulting business relationship. If no engagement results, we delete or anonymise your information within 12 months of your submission. If you become a client, retention periods are governed by the terms of our services agreement.

Your rights under POPIA

As a data subject under POPIA, you have the right to:

• Access — request confirmation of whether we hold personal information about you and request a copy of that information
• Correction — request that we correct or update inaccurate personal information
• Deletion — request that we delete your personal information, subject to any legal obligations we may have to retain it
• Object — object to the processing of your personal information on reasonable grounds
• Withdraw consent — where processing is based on your consent, withdraw that consent at any time
• Lodge a complaint — submit a complaint to the Information Regulator if you believe your rights have been infringed

Cookies and tracking

Our website is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. Cloudflare may collect basic, anonymised web analytics data (such as page views and country-level visitor location) as part of its hosting service. This data does not identify individual visitors and does not use cookies for tracking purposes.

We do not use:

• Marketing or advertising cookies
• Third-party analytics tools (such as Google Analytics)
• Tracking pixels or similar technologies
• Social media tracking scripts

No cookie consent banner is required because we do not set any cookies that require consent under POPIA.

Third-party services

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to any third party.

Children’s information

Our services are directed at businesses and professionals. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 18. If we become aware that we have collected such information, we will delete it promptly.

Changes to this policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
